Wanted to watch Alice in Wonderland this weekend one… but only 3D available…so.. wait next week for the 2D la… friend seems reluctant to watch the 3D one… I’m ok with anything.. so.. just wait next week…
Sis said this show is really funny one.. and I saw many reviews said the same thing… I believed it is very ridiculous one.. very mou lei tao… but… who cares? I just want a good laugh
well.. turned out that it was a damn stupid + funny show.. didn’t have exact story line.. but just funny… a lot of famous star acted in it… cute.
Still the whole cinema fulled with people… omg! It was supposed to be a Chinese New Year movie.. but now is March already.. still many people watching it… seems like Chinese really prone of watching funny chinese movie…
I would give it a B+… can go to watch this… just don’t expect there is a useful story line… just go there for the jokes..
Synopsis:
Past and present survival of the common man in the big city – ups and downs, laughters and tears…
In 1970s Hong Kong, rapacious landlords try to evict 72 tenants but sworn brothers Ha Kung (Eric Tsang) and Shek Kin (Jacky Cheung) help the group of 72 defeat the landlord (Lam Ka Tung) and landlady (Charmaine Sheh) and coincidentally rescue Pinky (Anita Yuen) from a planned forced marriage. When both sworn brothers fall for Pinky and propose to her, she flips a coin and Ha wins her hand in marriage.
The sworn brothers become sworn enemies and Shek’s hatred fuels intense rivalry against Ha in business dealings. Even after 40 years they continue to clash in Sai Yeung Choi Street, Mongkok, but when the street is hit by acid-attacks and rents raised to triple the cost, the 72 tenants unite and pledge to safeguard their home.
Against a background of fear and turmoil, with the old love triangle between Ha and Pinky and Shek still festering, the next generation of the Ha and Shek families embarks on their own heroic love affairs.
