This was a history movie which I have no idea about it… Friend wanted to watch this so I just follow…
Ended up, the whole movie was really nice. 鸿门宴 is all about how Xiang Yu (项羽) planned to kill Liu Bang (刘邦) in order to get rid of Liu Bang (刘邦) that caused a treat to Xiang Yu (项羽).
To people that know your history well, I think this was a nice show to watch.
To people that don’t know your history well, this is a show that you should watch. Just to know more on the history of Xiang Yu (项羽) & Liu Bang (刘邦).
Overall, the show was quite interesting.
Rate: A
Synopsis:
White Vengeance tells the story of two brothers contending for supremacy during the fall of the Qin Dynasty, which ruled Imperial China from 221 to 206 BC. As rebels rose, the nation fell into chaos. This is a mandarin movie ~ 那些年,我们一起追的女孩…. so if you don’t understand mandarin, I don’t think this will attract your attention.
I have heard a lot of good review on this movie and I wanted to watch this.. compare to Immortals… but friend doesn’t want to watch it that time.. cis.. ended up watch a sucky movie and complaint about it >.<
Anyway, lucky me, got another bunch of friends asked me whether I wanted to join.. so I went with them instead…
And I glad I went. It was a really funny show and it is really real life experience that many of us will experience it during our teenage years..
I would give an A to this… so.. go check this out if you understand mandarin~!
Synopsis:
Adolescence is like a heavy rain. Even though you catch a cold from it, you still look forward to experiencing it once again. Ko-Teng has several close friends who had a crush on Shen Chia-Yi. Those friends of Ko’s thus moved in unison from Ching Cheng’s junior high school straight into the senior high school division in pursuit of her. Naughty in nature, Ko was ordered by their homeroom teacher to sit in front of honor student Shen for her to keep close tabs on him. The two hadn’t hit it off at first but Ko gradually fell for Shen, who was always pressuring him to study hard. On the other hand, Shen became impressed by the contrasting values Ko represented. Ko started pursuing Shen but Shen remained hesitant. After graduation from senior high, Ko and Shen almost became a couple but the deal was spoilt by a duke out (fistfight) competition organized by Ko. Growing up together to witness their beloved Shen walking down the aisle to become someone else’s wife, these boys have learned their coming-of-age lessons and continue to pursue each’s happiness.

Don’t know what movie to watch as “Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ Was full, and the sales person recommended we watch this movie as she said it was really nice..
Well… not to my linking cuz I don’t really like movie that is too violent till the blood just “splash” the whole screen >.<
Anyway, if you like 300, you will like this show. It’s almost the same type.
Synopsis:
Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares. Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king’s hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion…until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope. Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes…

So far yet so close

Have you ever wonder after all the hard work you have done yet you still didn’t get what you want?
Have you ever wonder there are so many things that you want to achieve yet so hard to reach them?
Have you ever think that you have worked so hard yet still couldn’t see the return?
I have not update my blog for quite sometime as I have been very busy over this period of time.
And… it leads me into thinking, thinking whether all my hard work all this while is it worth it or not.
Too many things happened in such a short time. Too many things for me to cope, too many thoughts for me to digest, too many experience to learn from.
*sigh*
Is it wrong to feel insecure? Is it wrong to be scared? Is it wrong to ask for a confirmation?
Can I really cope with my life? Can I deal with it?
I hope & I wish I can….

V Hotel Lavender Singapore
Sis has a transit flight to Changi Singapore before she fly back to Arab… well… sort of dropped by to accompany me… heheh….

I found her this hotel at Lavender ~ V Hotel cuz they are one of the cheapest and convenient for us to go to Changi…

The review online was quite good… and it was only $150/night … consider quite cheap for a Singapore hotel.. normally those cheap ones are like Hotel 81, etc.

The room was pretty impressive and the bed was really comfortable.. we really enjoyed ourselves with a small bottle of wine before hit the bed…

However, the best part of the night ~> sis & I were awake middle of the night by the customers of the hotel… there wasn’t sound proof in the room at all!! OMG! We were both awaken by the noisy sound twice… middle of the night & also early morning when people going for breakfast >.<

So not going to recommend you all to pay them a visit… the service given by their staff was not good as well.. no smile on their faces.. it’s like everyone is owing them money >.<

Last but not least… it was really a great day out with sister after missing her for so long…
Although both the hotel & buffet dinner at Shangri-la were a big disappointment, but at least I gets to hang out with sister and enjoyed our 1day together
I’m truly blessed to have her

Buffet @ Rise Marina Bay Sands Hotel

Had buffet at Marina Bay Sands with sis & family on their visits to Singapore last month…

Heard from my aunt that need to make reservation before hand cuz they are always fully booked. If you didn’t make reservation, you will have to take the seats at the walk way.

Well, the first thing I see will definitely their fresh oyster, and seafood…

They do have a wide variety of food.. 3 different types of soup, cooked food, fresh seafood, salad, fruits, japanese food, cheese,

Desserts, fondae, cakes…

Although I don’t really like cakes & desserts, but theirs really looks attractive and really tempted to try them…

As for Darren, in order to have him sit quietly, well… just let him play with the games will do >.<

That’s my servings… which I had 3 plates of fresh oysters + prawn + yabbies, 2 plates of salad, some mini desserts & soup

As for these pics for mom & I, sis hand shake… so they r blurrrr… =.= even worse than my camwhore pic.. cis…

We had a very nice dinner there… with each person SGD 88 =.= I would say… this was so much nicer than dinner buffet at Line – Shangri-la … I wouldn’t blog about buffet at Line Shangri-la cuz I didn’t take much picture… but the experience was not good there. They kept everything in their fridge and if you are 1st timer, you wouldn’t know they even offer such food. Example: they kept their fresh cheese on their chef counter. If you want, you must ask from the chef. WTF!!! What is buffet means? It means you put everything on the counter so people take what they like. If I need to ask from the chef, what is the purpose of buffet? Might as well call -> ala carte

Alright, that’s all for the rant & ravings of bad experience in Shangri-la :p
After dinner we went to Marina Bay Sands to see their night water fountain show at 9pm…

So before that we went for a stroll on Marina Bay Sands… the new LV store still under renovation when I was there…

Last but not least, the night view from Marina Bay Sands over looking CBD area

Haw Par Villa @ Singapore
** I have the wrong spelling for Haw “Par” villa on my watermarks in all pictures and I’m just lazy to redo it… so… just ignore the wrong spelling on the watermarks :p

Haw Par Villa reopened in Singapore. So while sis & family visit to Singapore on early Sept, she wanted to go there for a walk.

I haven’t been to this place for years. The last time I’m here was at least 20years ago, while dad still around.

Of all the memories in mind, I think everything still same. And the entrance still free!

The place wasn’t that big… you can just finish walking in 30min -> including taking pictures…

They have this hell section which Darren is not allow to enter cuz he’s too young for that… and according to Chinese belief, this kinda places normal have a lot of the “spirit” which is bad for children.

I don’t like to enter places like this -> designed like Hell as well cuz it caused fear…. I once went to Gula, Taiping when I was 10 and the Hell there was so disturbing and it caused nightmare for me =.=

The sad thing about this reopened Haw Paw Villa was that, the statues all were not well-maintain.

The paint on the statues were all worn out. The people who open this place up didn’t even repaint it so that they could attract more visitors.

Some of the history about Haw Par Villa I got while googling the official Haw Par Villa website… Haw Par Villa also known as Tiger Balm Garden, was built by Haw & Par brothers (Aw Boon Haw & Aw Boon Par). It was built on a hill in Pasir Panjang surrounded by unique gardens depicting Chinese mythology for the younger, quieter Boon Par in 1937.

Tiger Balm Gardens was later donated to the Singapore government by the Aw family, put on public tender for re-building as a theme park under the name Haw Par Villa. This theme park is no longer associated with the Haw Par group.

Ok.. end for history and serious stuff… time for personal stuff…

Darren was getting bigger over the few months and with a spec… he’s not even 5yrs old =.= follow the mom’s gen .. bad bad bad
And when I asked him to take pic with me.. he ignored me >.< so I grabbed him to me and this was the ignorance face he shown me >.<

It’s been years since mom’s last visited SG…. and it was really great to have her with me.. missed her so much…

In case you are wondering, where is my sis… sorry ya.. don’t have her pic on my camera.. hahaha… all were on her camera and I have yet to copy d pics from her! ishhh!

Movie Review: Real Steel

I have to say this first before my review on the movie, this is the most expensive 2D movie I have ever watched.
Reason being:
I wanted to catch the earliest show. So I rushed out of house thinking I should have enough time if the bus is there when I reached bus stop. Well, I did catch a bus once I got to the bus stop. I was so happy. Then I reached the MRT station seeing the train is reaching as well. However, at this time, I was looking for my handphone.
And to my surprised, I forgot to bring it out!!! OMG!
I rushed home with a cab, cost me $4 >.<
Got my phone, then rushed down take bus to MRT station again… but seeing I got 15min left till the show and I’m half way to the cinema, I changed route and took a cab to the cinema instead. Cost me $7.
And the movie itself was $11. Total cost for this movie = $22 >.<|||
*sigh*…
Anyway, back to the show, like many people commented, this was really a must watch show!!!Especially if you like Hugh Jackman, he is still looking good even at his age and the body still so macho… niceee~!
And the robots, they make it humanize. As if the robot understand human and has feelings. Really something touching.
And the kids starring Hugh Jackman’s s0n -> Dakota Goyo is also a very cute boy with the nice blue eyes.
Most importantly, the show to tell us, no matter how bad a situation, the love between father and son will never be affected by the bad situation. Touching moments in there.
And also, never look down on your opponent even if you are a world champion cuz you will never know what will bring you down in the end of the day.
Definitely a recommended show
Synopsis:
A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo)to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
