Movie Review: Underworld – Awakening

Watched this on the weekend before CNY. It was a big disappointment. Well, I should expect this to be a a huge disappointment due to the 3rd part wasn’t nice as well… *sigh* it really not a nice for this episod.

The movie was boring and definitely got the next episod again. Hate this >.<

Anyway, some might like this. :)

Synopsis:

UNDERWORLD AWAKENING brings a stunning new dimension to the epic battle between Vampires and Lycans, as the first film in the franchise to shoot in 3D. Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

Movie Review: Flying Swords Of Dragon Gate

Friend wanted to watch this so we went for this during New Year’s eve weekend… but.. turned out this was a disappointing movie. No specialty in the story and the action was not interesting.

Really disappointed with the director’s – 徐克 movie nowadays. Can’t he produces some good movie like previously? *sigh*

Anyway, don’t watch this at cinema. A waste of money. The 3D totally sucks.

Synopsis:

The bad guys are the eunuchs of the Imperial Court, who have created their own unaccountable secret police, armed with bizarre weapons and utterly ruthless in their quest for power and wealth. The good guys are led by a former general, stripped of his rank by the eunuchs, who set out to shield the innocent, right some wrongs and restore decency to the Imperial Court. And the ugly guys are a gang of cut-throat bandits who have caught scent of a hoard of hidden treasure. Their conflicts come to a head at Dragon Inn, a remote outpost in the desert at the very frontier of the kingdom. But nearby stands Dragon Gate, portal to a lost world under the sands and a vast sandstorm is bearing down on the region. The final battle to the death is fought out amid the traps and feints of a great lost city, and in the whirlwind which turns the desert into a maelstrom of choking sand.

Movie Review: Mission Impossible 4 – Ghost Protocol

I felt this one was not as good as the previous one… it shown that Tom Cruise is scared of height & he’s got hesitated on his attempt on dangerous actions.

I would rate this as a B-

However, some people will like it. I don’t see the beauty on this movie. :p

Anyway, it’s outdated blog. Therefore, if you haven’t watch it, just download it :D

Synopsis:

In the 4th installment of the Mission Impossible series, Ethan Hunt and his team are racing against time to track down a dangerous terrorist named Hendricks, who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt by the team to stop him at the Kremlin ends in a disaster, with an explosion causing severe destruction to the Kremlin and the IMF being implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to invoke Ghost Protocol, under which the IMF is disavowed, and will be offered no help or backup in any form. Undaunted, Ethan and his team chase Hendricks to Dubai, and from there to Mumbai, but several spectacular action sequences later, they might still be too late to stop a disaster.

Movie Review: Sherlock Holmes – A Game Of Shadows

It’s all about movies. The next movie I watched on Xmas week was non other than must-watch -> Sherlock Holmes II!

Well, it’s a nice show. Interesting, but, lack of fresh story lines that can arouse the audience.

Just like Moriaty’s secret, it was unlocked at the start of the show. Then the whole movie is about tracking him.

Hmm… although this is the losing part, but, it was a great show. :D

Synopsis:

Sherlock and Watson face arch-nemesis Professor Moriaty, who is conspiring to make a fortune at the expense of the rest of the world. As Sherlock and Watson unravel the dastardly plot as they travel across Europe, they unlock Moriaty’s secret- the manufacturing of next-generation weapons. Sherlock and Watson must stop this great threat before Moriarty succeeds in provoking a World War.

Movie Review: White Vengeance

This was a history movie which I have no idea about it… Friend wanted to watch this so I just follow…

Ended up, the whole movie was really nice. 鸿门宴 is all about how Xiang Yu (项羽) planned to kill Liu Bang (刘邦) in order to get rid of Liu Bang (刘邦) that caused a treat to Xiang Yu (项羽).

To people that know your history well, I think this was a nice show to watch.

To people that don’t know your history well, this is a show that you should watch. Just to know more on the history of Xiang Yu (项羽) & Liu Bang (刘邦).

Overall, the show was quite interesting.

Rate: A

Synopsis:

White Vengeance tells the story of two brothers contending for supremacy during the fall of the Qin Dynasty, which ruled Imperial China from 221 to 206 BC. As rebels rose, the nation fell into chaos. Liu Bang (Leon Lai) and Xiang Yu (Feng Shaofeng), became leaders of the rebellious army, and also became sworn brothers in battle. Xiang Yu and Liu Bang are close friends who both serve King Huai of Chu. King Huai uses a plot, saying that whoever can subvert the Qin kingdom in Guanzhong would be the Lord Qin, in order to benefit from the competition between Xiang Yu and Liu Bang. Xiang Yu is over-confident. He fights against the main force of Qin army, and entrusts Liu Bang with Yu Ji (Liu Yifei), the woman he loves. Liu Bang expresses his love to Yu Ji and takes the chance to invade Guanzhong first when most of Qin army is outside fighting against Xiang Yu’s army. Image source: www.rep-rev.com

Don’t know what movie to watch as “Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ Was full, and the sales person recommended we watch this movie as she said it was really nice..

Well… not to my linking cuz I don’t really like movie that is too violent till the blood just “splash” the whole screen >.<

Anyway, if you like 300, you will like this show. It’s almost the same type. :)

Synopsis:

Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king’s hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict. Movie Review: Real Steel

I have to say this first before my review on the movie, this is the most expensive 2D movie I have ever watched.

Reason being:

I wanted to catch the earliest show. So I rushed out of house thinking I should have enough time if the bus is there when I reached bus stop. Well, I did catch a bus once I got to the bus stop. I was so happy. Then I reached the MRT station seeing the train is reaching as well. However, at this time, I was looking for my handphone.

And to my surprised, I forgot to bring it out!!! OMG!

I rushed home with a cab, cost me $4 >.<

Got my phone, then rushed down take bus to MRT station again… but seeing I got 15min left till the show and I’m half way to the cinema, I changed route and took a cab to the cinema instead. Cost me $7.

And the movie itself was $11. Total cost for this movie = $22 >.<|||

*sigh*…

Anyway, back to the show, like many people commented, this was really a must watch show!!!Especially if you like Hugh Jackman, he is still looking good even at his age and the body still so macho… niceee~!

And the robots, they make it humanize. As if the robot understand human and has feelings. Really something touching.

And the kids starring Hugh Jackman’s s0n -> Dakota Goyo is also a very cute boy with the nice blue eyes.

Most importantly, the show to tell us, no matter how bad a situation, the love between father and son will never be affected by the bad situation. Touching moments in there.

And also, never look down on your opponent even if you are a world champion cuz you will never know what will bring you down in the end of the day.

Definitely a recommended show :)

Synopsis:

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo)to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
